Beauty Brand Operations Consultancy
Good operations are invisible. Bad operations are why your best people are exhausted and your best ideas are moving slowly.
Great brands don't fail on product. They fail on operations.
A lot of beauty brands have brilliant founders, genuinely good products, and a loyal customer base - but they're still not growing as fast as they should. The reason is almost always operational. Content that doesn't ship on time. Creator partnerships that don't convert. Retail opportunities that slip because the brand wasn't ready. These aren't creative problems. They're ops problems. Beauty 2.0 is an operations consultancy specifically for beauty brands. We don't consult in the abstract - we get into the actual workflows, the actual tools, the actual bottlenecks - and we fix them. We've worked across DTC, wholesale, retail, and marketplace channels. We know what operations need to look like at each stage of growth. The goal isn't to make your business more complex. It's to make it more reliable - so that the creative, commercial, and brand work can actually happen the way you intended.
The ops problems that hold beauty brands back
No single source of truth for the business
Product data, creator contacts, retailer terms, campaign assets - spread across email, Google Drive, Dropbox, and someone's desktop. Every time someone needs something, it takes 20 minutes to find it.
Growth reveals the gaps in the current system
What worked informally at a smaller scale starts breaking down. A new product range, a new retail listing, a larger creator programme - and suddenly the old way of doing things isn't good enough.
Operational knowledge lives in people, not systems
Key team members are irreplaceable not because of their talent, but because they're the only ones who know how things work. That's a fragility risk, not a compliment.
How Beauty 2.0 approaches operations
We work in focused engagements - typically 3-6 months - with a clear scope and measurable outcomes. We don't do vague retainers. We identify the operational problems, design the solutions, implement them with your team, and hand ownership back to you. Our work spans four areas: content operations, creator management, retail operations, and team infrastructure. Most brands have gaps in at least two of these. Some have gaps in all four. The audit tells us where to start. We use tools that are appropriate for your size and your team's technical comfort. We've built elegant operations for brands using nothing more than Notion, Airtable, and a well-designed Slack structure. The sophistication is in the thinking, not the tooling.
What better operations delivers
Faster time from brief to live
Content, creator campaigns, and retail assets move through approval and production faster because the process is clear and the tools are set up correctly.
Less founder involvement in day-to-day decisions
When the system knows how to handle recurring situations, the founder stops being the bottleneck for things that don't need their input.
Fewer mistakes and missed deadlines
Reliable processes mean things happen when they're supposed to. Launch dates are hit. Retailer deadlines are met. Creator briefs go out on time.
A team that can scale without proportional hiring
The right operations infrastructure means you can grow the business significantly without a corresponding growth in headcount.
Institutional knowledge that lives in the business
Documented playbooks and systems that any team member can follow - so knowledge transfer stops being a crisis and starts being routine.
Typical deliverables
Operations Audit
A structured review of how your business currently runs, with a prioritised list of the gaps and friction points to address.
Workflow Design
Redesigned processes for your highest-friction areas - documented, tested with your team, and ready to implement.
Tools Configuration
Your project management, asset management, and communication tools set up to reflect the new workflows - not the old ones they were inherited from.
Team Playbooks
Step-by-step guides for the recurring tasks in your business - written for the people who do them, reviewed with the team, and stored where they can actually find them.
Handover & Training
A structured handover so your team owns the systems we've built, can maintain them, and can extend them as the business grows.
“Your team is brilliant. The goal is to build the environment where that shows up in the work every single day - not just when everything goes right.”

Frequently asked questions
What size of brand do you work with?
Primarily brands between £500k and £15m in annual revenue - established enough to have real operational complexity, but still lean enough that the right systems can make a dramatic difference. We've also worked with pre-launch brands building their operational foundations before they scale.
Do you work with retail brands or DTC brands?
Both, and many brands in transition between the two. Retail and DTC have very different operational demands - we know both well. If you're preparing to launch into retail from a DTC base, that transition planning is something we specialise in.
How involved does the founder need to be?
We need founder involvement at the start (audit interviews, workflow sign-off) and at key milestones. Day-to-day implementation is handled with your team, not your calendar.
What tools do you work with?
We're tool-agnostic and deliberately so. We use what's right for your team - Notion, Airtable, Monday.com, Google Workspace, Klaviyo, whatever you already have. We don't recommend tools we have commercial relationships with.
